Addison Ranch is a family owned and operated ranch that understands the importance of educating future generations in the skills necessary for the management of land and animals in the agriculture and wildlife industries. Our goal is to share the knowledge and experience we have acquired over many years on the ranch to facilitate the intern’s success in his/her field.
Interns will learn how to operate and manage mob grazing techniques in order to improve soil productivity and increase animal performance of both cattle and wildlife.
If the intern is here during the fall and winter months, they will learn the ins and outs of a commercial hunting business while maintaining their first priority which will be cattle management and evaluation. The work will be long and hard but when they are finished they will have been given the knowledge and skills to help them be sustainable in the present and future agriculture and wildlife industries.
REQUIREMENTS:
Interns are required to have completed a minimum of one semester of their college junior year.
Each intern is expected to be physically capable of this type of work and at least 18 years of age.
Interns will start under direct supervision with the goal of slowly progressing toward independent , responsible decision making.
Pay will be $1,000/month. Living quarters are provided including utilities, but interns are responsible for their own meals.
